Mondays in 2024 ~ Essex, CT 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm
The Jovial Crew (Cliff Haslam, Joseph Morneault, Rick Spencer and Michael Hotkowski) presents Sea Chanteys, Irish songs, drinking songs and nonsense at The Griswold Inn, 36 Main Street in Essex, CT. The fun starts as soon as you arrive.  “The Gris” website is here.

 

18 June 2024, Tuesday ~ Essex, CT 5:30 to 7:45 pm

The Connecticut River Museum has asked us to return for another season of their “Shanties and Sails” series. It will begin with a free concert of maritime music on the lawn at 5:30.  It will then move to Chanteys and other Sea music during a sail on the river aboard the vessel Onrust from 6:45 to 7:45.  The museum is located at 67 Main Street, Essex, CT. 7 August 2024, Tuesday ~ East Haven, CT 6:30 pm

The Hagaman Memorial Library has invited us to present our program Washington’s Favorite, The Nation’s Guest: Songs of Lafayette’s Time In America. The library is located at 227 Main Street in East Haven, CT. The library website is here.

17 August 2024, Saturday ~ Fairfield, CT 11:30 am
The Fairfield Museum and History Center has invited us to present our program Washington’s Favorite, The Nation’s Guest: Songs of Lafayette’s Time In America. The center is located at 370 Beach Road, Fairfield, CT.  The organization’s website is here.

21 August 2024, Wednesday ~ West Nyack, NY 6:30 pm

The West Nyack Free Library has invited us to present our program The Brill Building Sound from our Songs of the Baby Boom: American Post War Pop Music series.  This program is a collection of songs from some of the greatest composers of the day including Leiber and  Stoller, King and Goffin, Sedaka and Greenfield, Pomus and Shuman, Bacharach and David and many others, all of whom worked out of the iconic Brill Building at 1619 Broadway in NYC.   The library is located at 65 Strawtown Road, West Nyack NY. 6 September 2024, Friday ~ Wethersfield, CT 6:30 pm

The Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum has invited us to present our program Washington’s Favorite, The Nation’s Guest: Songs of Lafayette’s Time In America in the Museum barn as part of their “Birthday Party For Lafayette”.  The museum is located at 211 Main Street, Wethersfield, CT. 12 September 2024, Thursday ~ Brooklyn, CT  7:30 pm

The Brooklyn, CT Historical Society presents Between the Great Wars: American Popular Music 1918~1941 at Trinity Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 7 Providence Road in Brooklyn, CT.  The program will follow a brief 7:00 pm meeting of the organization.  Their website is here.

24 October 2024, Thursday ~ New London, CT 7:00 pm

We have been invited by the Friends of Fort Trumbull to present songs from our American Post War Pop Music series.  The songs will be from the heyday of The Hygienic Restaurant and the Garde Theater, and will take place in the conference room at Fort Trumbull.  For more information visit here.
