The Willington Public Library presents “From Colonies to Independence: Songs of America’s Transition” at 7 Ruby Road in Willington, CT. The Library’s website is here.
18 July 2026, Saturday ~ Haddam, CT 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm
The Jovial Crew has been asked to provide entertainment for a dinner cruise aboard the LADY KATE. The crew will be doing our usual mix of sea songs and chanteys, Irish and Scottish folk songs, early American ballads, drinking songs and timeless songs of adventure, love, and life on the water. 22 July 2026, Wednesday ~ Guilford, CT Time TBD
The Jovial Crew has been asked to provide a “town green” type of performance at Jacob’s Beach, 198 Seaside Avenue in Guilford. We’re one of two groups that evening, and we’re up first. Joseph thinks we begin at 6pm but is waiting for confirmation. As soon as we have it, we’ll post information here.

The Palmer-Warner House is hosting their third annual “Pipes & Cider” festival, celebrating the traditions of Scotland. We’ll be opening the festival with a concert of songs from Scotland, drinking songs and songs of America’s Colonial and Revolutionary eras from 12:20 pm until 1:00 pm. 17 September 2026, Thursday ~ Brooklyn, CT 7:30 pm
The Brooklyn Historical Society presents “From Colonies to Independence: Songs of America’s Transition” at Brooklyn’s Trinity Episcopal Church Parish House, 7 Providence Road in Brooklyn, CT. The program will follow the society’s meeting at 7:00 pm. The organization’s website is here.

26 September 2026, Saturday ~ Plainville, CT 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
The Plainville Historical Society is celebrating America’s 250th with a special event at the historic Robertson Airport, at 62 Johnson Avenue in Plainville, CT. The proposed time of the family friendly event is 10 am to 3 pm. Our program is scheduled to run from 2 pm to 3 pm, but why not just plan to spend the day? We’ll post more details as soon as they’re in.
2 October 2026, Friday ~ Pomfret, CT 7 pm
The Pomfret America 250 Commission is hosting a reception and concert at the Vanilla Bean Cafe, for those who will be participating in the “Revolutionary Pomfret Reenactment” the next day. The public is welcome, and encouraged to wear 1770s-era clothing. There’s a reception at 6:00 pm. The concert begins at 7:00 pm. The theme is “Songs of Seafaring, Drinking and Tavern Life.” The Vanilla Bean is at 450 Deerfield Road in Pomfret Center, CT. The Pomfret America 250 Commission website is here.
10 October 2026, Saturday ~ Winsted, CT 3:00 pm
The Winchester Historic Commission and Soldiers Monument, in collaboration with the American Museum of Tort Law, presents “From Colonies to Independence: Songs of America’s Transition” at 654 Main Street in Winsted, CT. A url for more information will be posted here when it becomes available.
